HAL is a brand dedicated to the research and development of film post-production tools. Led by filmmakers, HAL develops tools that are lacking in the field of image processing and sound design.
Our Picture branch has been created by Martin Roux (DoP), Olivier Patron (DIT) and Paul Morin (DoP)
Our tools are developed with precision and scientific clarity in mind, but also to be easily used in industrial production pipelines.
HAL also offers look development and aesthetic support services for filmmakers, cinematographers, and colorists. In addition, we provide a customized research service dedicated to unique projects.
HAL is part of Polyson, a French post-production company based in Paris. Polyson offers all image and sound post-production services: rushes management, digital lab, editing, color grading, sound editing, mixing, sound effects, and mastering.
Polyson’s creative associates come from all links in the production and post-production chain, including directors of photography, colorists, editors, sound engineers, sound editors, and mixers, who have worked on hundreds of films and series.
In addition to developing plugins for sale, Hal Picture works on custom research projects.
